After much teasing, the vivo V40 5G has officially made its debut in the Philippines. Building on the framework of the previous series, the V40 5G comes with a sleek design, improved internals, and triple 50MP cameras powered by ZEISS.
Coming in just 5 months after the V30 5G, the vivo V40 5G comes with the same design language that keeps it slim and sleek. It’s still powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 platform with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
Its rear imaging setup is composed of a 50MP f/1.88 main camera with OIS and a 50MP f/2.0 ultrawide lens. Meanwhile, on its 6.78-inch 2800 x 1260 120Hz AMOLED screen is another 50MP f/2.0 lens to take selfies with. Its cameras have been co-engineered with ZEISS for better performance, plus it’ll come with ZEISS-exclusive filters built-in to the camera app.
Despite its 7.58mm body, vivo has managed to fit in a 5,500mAh battery. It will support 80W Flash Charge to keep its battery topped up. Its chassis is both IP68 and IP69 rated to make it more resilient to splashes and high-pressure jets of liquid.
The smartphone will run on Android 14 with vivo’s FunTouch OS 14. It supports dual-SIM 5G, WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4. There will be AI-capabilities on the smartphone including AI Eraser and AI Facial Contouring.
The vivo V40 5G will come in 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB storage variants priced at PhP 26,999 and PhP 29,999, respectively, in the Philippines. It will be offered in Lotus Purple, Ganges Blue, and Titanium Gray colorways.
You can now pre-order your own vivo V40 5G until September 27, 2024. You’ll need to provide a PhP 500 downpayment to reserve yours. A pre-order voucher will be given to you upon pre-order and will be required upon claiming from September 28 to October 16, 2024.
