It’s that time of the year again. This year, we finally have the models and the boxes for 2025’s Warhammer 40,000 Christmas Battleforce box sets. With each revealed, we get to know what they are bringing in to the table come December this year. That being said, it’s also wise to check possible discounts, is it worth it to buy this year’s Battleforce sets, and when is it actually going to be released? Let’s find out in this article.
For 2025, we have seven factions that have their own Battleforce box. In total, we have two Imperial factions, two chaos factions, and three Xenos factions. If your army or armies are not on the list, maybe they will get a release next year? Either way, check out this year’s battleforce sets below.
If you don’t fancy any of the battleforce boxes below, maybe the upcoming Terminator Battleforce box set may be a better choice?
Which Battleforce Box Set are you planning to buy this 2025? (You can select more than one)
Total Voters: 1
The Space Marine Iron Halo Strike Force box contains a total of 18 miniatures:
The box contains elite Space Marines unit and is perfect as a starting force. Compliment this with a Starter Box set and you’re all set. The two Dreadnoughts provide excellent firepower on the field and the may also take quite some time to paint. However, the Hellblasters may be a duplicate model for most but still a welcome addition. You can also check out the available Space Marines combat patrol for more unique models to add to your growing army.

The Krieg Siege Platoon box contains a total of 35 miniatures:
This Krieg battleforce is what should have been compared to their pretty plain launch box set. You have a command squad, a good complement of troopers, engineers, and two artillery pieces. Just add in a Krieg Combat Patrol to further beef up the troops and have a bit of cavalry for long-distances.

The Tau Empire Farsight Cadre battleforce box contains a total of 14 miniatures:
Commander Farsight enters the fray with this battleforce box filled with beefy mechs. Again, partner this with a Combat Patrol to get squads of infantry and a Devilfish to perfectly make a functioning Tau army.

The Cthonian Prospect Leagues of Votann battleforce box contains a total of 21 miniatures:
This Leagues of Votann Battleforce has a good mix of infantry and a vehicle to boot. A perfect start for this young faction.

The Crusher Stampede Tyranids battleforce box contains a total of 7 miniatures:
Ever wanted to buy all of the big Tyranid monsters in one go? Now is a good chance to do so. Another thing is that four models, the Neurotyrant, two Neuroloids, and Screamer-Killer, in this box are not available as stand-alone models and were released only via the Leviathan box set two years ago. While you can order them online, they are a bit on the expensive side. If you have a lot of Termagaunts and Hormagaunts, this might be the box that you need to complete your Tyranid army.

The Blissbound Warband Emperor’s Children battleforce box contains a total of 13 miniatures:
While on the lower end of the model count, the Blissbound Warband contains the Primarch of the faction itself. Although you cannot play it on its own, this battleforce has the base units and the center piece of the faction so you will more than likely buy these models anyway.

The Hellforged Warband Chaos Space Marines Battleforce battleforce box contains a total of 20 miniatures:
Daemon engines, a vehicle, and evil space marines? This battleforce has it all. While it contains a mix of two versions of the previous Chaos Space Marines Combat Patrols, this box is still a solid one. You can never have enough of the units here and duplicates are more than welcome in a Chaos Space Marine army.

Battleforce Box sets have always been worth it given that they are heavily discounted compared to buying the models inside per box. This makes them a cost-efficient way to get into the hobby while also giving you a great deal of things to assemble and paint.
If you are more into the tabletop gaming side of Warhammer 40,000, battleforce box sets can complement your existing army. As mentioned above, these are boxes with heavy discounts on their contents. Having a bit of extra models allows your army to be flexible, giving you more choices on what you can field in a fight.
If you are not that into the gaming side of things and are more on the collecting side, these battleforce boxes are still worth it. Each box contains a good number of models to keep you busy for weeks (or in my case, years). Some of the boxes this year even have huge monsters or vehicles in them, meaning that you’ll likely spend dozens of hours to paint them. If you think about it, battleforce boxes are worth it if you factor in the time (hobby relaxation and fun) that you’ll spend in painting them.
In the past few years, Battleforce boxes were released on December. We can say the same this time. This may vary though depending on your region. If you’re in the UK, expect an earlier or on time release date. For US, it depends on your nearest hobby store and you country’s Gamesworkshop distribution. Here in the Philippines, the release has been quite on time with the boxes ready for release on December or early January.

Warhammer 40,000 Battleforce boxes are incredible discount boxes that you should grab. That is if your army is part of the annual lineup. To better solidify your decision in getting one, we compiled a table that shows how much you can save by buying a battleforce box instead of buying every single one of the models inside them.

Some hobby stores offer a discount on battleforce boxes if you reserve early on. Check your nearby stores and ask if you can get a reservation as early as now. You also get a guaranteed box and would not have to face issues with scalpers and bloated prices.
