During the Warhammer Day stream, fans of the well-received Kill Team were shown a preview of the new upcoming box set, Shadowvaults. Again situated inside a derelict Space Hulk, the new WH40K Kill Team box set pits the elite Cadian Kasrkins against the ancient Necrons.
Pre-orders are now up! Get yours on the official Games Workshop site or talk to your LGFS for reservations.
Similar to previous Kill Team, Shadowvaults will come with terrain in the form of modular walls, two kill teams, a Kill Team supplement containing the rules for the new Kill Teams as well as missions, and transfer sheets.
Based on the image above, we can see a total of 10 Kasrkins on the field against a total of 8 Necron models.
These new Kasrkin units may be a good addition to the newly announced Astra Militarum box set. Why not support it with the new Rogal Dorn Battle Tank and the new Lord Solar while you’re at it?
Games Workshop has also revealed the sprues for the Kasrkins. We see a total of three sprues. Also noticeable are the pairs of Plasma, Flamers, and the Meltas. We also get a lot of heads as usual.
The Necrons are based on the current Immortals/Deathmarks kit. Like other Kill Teams with current sprues, the package includes an upgrade sprue for an Apprentek, a Plasmacyte Reanimator, and Plasmacyte Accelerator. The sprues also include parts for a Despotek and of course, more heads for Deathmarks. The sprue for the Technomancer was not included in the preview.
Aside from the models and the supplement, the Shadowvaults box set will also contain a couple of terrain pieces. These new terrain are not only for decoration and cover, they have specific actions that players can take advantage of when used in the field. Not much is revealed only that they can be used. Let’s wait and see how they transform the battlefield once the Shadowvaults box set gets released.
Part of the recent reveal are the sprues for the new terrain pieces.
With everything unveiled, are you going to buy the new Kill Team Shadowvaults? Will you buy it only for the Kasrkins or the Necrons? Or do you need more walls for your tabletop battlefied? Or would you rather wait for the next one? Share your thoughts!
As the next chapter in the 4-part series started by Into the Dark, we can expect this next chapter of Kill Team to launch before the year ends. Hopefully it arrives before 2023 here in the Philippines.
Price has yet to be officially announced but we can deduce that the price will be a bit similar to the recently released, Into the Dark. Into the Dark has a price tag of £110 / $210.
