In Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (XBC3), players can raise the maximum rank/level of classes to 20. To do this, you must first clear the Ascension Quest for that class. Get to know the Ascension quest for each class, when and what chapter to unlock them, and more using this guide.
Below are the classes available in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 together with the chapter where you can unlock their Ascension Quest. Note that some of them require the completion of side quests or the progression of the game’s story.
Ascension Quests raise a class’ level or rank cap. From the base 10, you can go up to the limit of 20. This allows your character to have more Master Arts to mix and match with other classes. Not only that but you also get stronger arts and better skills with a higher class rank.
A requirement for triggering a class’ Ascension Quest is to have a main character with a rank 10 of that class. You can easily do this by immediately taking on the class using the designated “Inheritor”.
Some Ascension Quests can only be unlocked by doing a number of Side Quests. For classes like the Machine Assassin and Stalker, you may need to finish side quests for their Ascension Quest to trigger and appear on the map. Watch out for these quests and go back to Colonies after a major story event.
