Due to the weakening Philippine Peso, it seems that Xiaomi will be raising prices for select smartphones according to local retailer XUNDD. The most affected units are entry-level and midrange devices including the Redmi range and Xiaomi Pad 5.

Below are the models that will be affected of the price hike:

  • Redmi 9A 2GB/32GB – PhP 5,199 (from PhP 4,799)
  • Redmi 10A 3GB/64GB – PhP 6,399 (from PhP 5,999)
  • Redmi 10C 4GB/64GB – PhP 6,699 (from PhP 6,299)
  • Redmi 10C 4GB/128GB – PhP 7,899 (from PhP 7,299)
  • Redmi Note 11 4GB/64GB – PhP 8,999 (from PhP 9,699)
  • Redmi Note 11 6GB/128GB – PhP 10,999 (from PhP 9,999)
  • Redmi Note 11S 8GB/128GB – PhP 13,499 (from PhP 12,999)
  • Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G 8GB/128GB – PhP 17,499 (from PhP 15,999)
  • Xiaomi Pad 5 6GB/256GB – PhP 20,999 (from PhP 19,999)

Some of the higher-end models are unaffected by the rising prices. Xiaomi has yet to announce any price hike on their end and this could be an isolated incident from one retailer.

The Philippine Peso closed at an exchange rate of PhP 56.06 to USD 1. Economists say that it has been the weakest in nearly 17 years when the Peso closed at PhP 56.295 to USD 1 back in September 27, 2005.
