First launched in China last year, the Xiaomi Mi 11 is now expanding its coverage to the international scene. Like previous Xiaomi flagships, the Mi 11 fits an impressive list of specifications in an easier to swallow price point.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 comes with large 6.81-inch 3200 x 1440 AMOLED display that runs up to 120Hz and supports HDR10+. The display is shielded from external factors by the latest Gorilla Glass Victus protection and claims to reach up to 1500nits in brightness. The screen also integrates an optical fingerprint scanner for additional security options.
Its imaging systems are kept relatively simple compared to the competition. At the back are three cameras: a 108MP f/1.9 main camera with a 7P lens, a 13MP f/2.4 ultrawide, and a 5MP f/2.4 macro lens. Meanwhile, selfies are taken by a 20MP f/2.0 selfie camera conveniently placed at the upper left corner of the display.
Backing the camera system is a set of additional features like RAW-level noise reduction and improved night mode capabilities. Video has also been improved with additional modes like Parallel World – which duplicates and inverts the scene – Freeze Frame Video, and Magic Zoom Mode.
The Mi 11 is one of the first devices to come the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip. The brand is pairing its new chip with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Unfortunately, its storage cannot be upgraded due to a lack of a MicroSD slot. Of course, the device will also support 5G connections for next generation mobile data speeds.
Powering the smartphone is a 4,600mAh battery that supports 55w Fast Charging and 50W Wireless Fast Charging. It can also supply power to other devices via its 10W Reverse Wireless Charging. It ships with Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 on top by default, which they say can reduce up to 22% CPU usage and up to 15% in power consumption.
Xiaomi will also be partnering with MiHoYo to improve performance and offer a smoother gaming experience in Genshin Impact. More details about their collaboration are expected to arrive soon.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 will be available globally in two variants:
In the Philippines, however, the Xiaomi Mi 11 is expected to arrive in official retailers as early as this February. Local pricing and availability will be announced soon.
