Xiaomi CEO, Lin Bin, has just posted a video on Weibo showing off a brand new in-display fingerprint scanner on a prototype smartphone that promises to improve on the concept.
Based on the video, this next generation in-display fingerprint scanner can be set up with only a tap of a finger. Unlocking the smartphone can be done by placing your finger pretty much anywhere on the screen.
According to the Xiaomi CEO, the area for unlocking has been expanded to 50 x 25mm. If this new technology makes waves on its fans, the brand may consider putting into future devices.
