Xiaomi is expanding their range of affordable wearables with the new Xiaomi Smart Band 10. Designed for a younger crowd, it’s priced as a budget-friendly smart band that allows everyone to have a partner for their health and fitness journey.
The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 keeps everything simple with a minimalist design. It doesn’t detract too much from its predecessors with its oblong-shaped face. You can choose from several material variants with the frame being available in aluminum or ceramic while its strap can be customized to have a TPU, fluororubber, leather, and more. The strap can be changed by pushing on the tabs connecting them to the frame.
Without the straps, the Smart Band 10 is featherlight with the aluminum version at 16g while the ceramic edition is slightly heavier at 23g. Regardless of variant, both models come with 5ATM water resistance rating that enables them to be submersed to depths of up to 50 meters.
The watch face itself comes with a 1.72-inch 212 x 520 AMOLED display with a 73% screen-to-body ratio and support for Always-On Display. It’s surprisingly bright for such as a tiny device with the screen reaching up to 1500nits outside, which is plenty enough to be used while jogging outside.
There are no physical buttons and navigation is left up to swiping on the display. Swiping up and down unveils its menus and notification screens, respectively, while swiping left and right reveals important statistics such as heart rate, calorie burn counter, weather, and sleep tracker. Tap and holding enables you to add more pages to the display.
It can be customized via the Mi Fitness app. You’ll be able to choose from a plethora of designs with the band itself storing 8 faces so you can still customize it even while you’re offline. If you’re bored, you can also play simple mini-games built-in onto the band.
Xiaomi packs plenty of health-focused features onto the Smart Band 10. It supports optical heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking, stress monitoring, sleep tracking, and even menstrual cycle tracking.
For fitness buffs, the Smart Band 10 supports more than 150 workout modes with 6 auto-detection modes and even guided running courses. For more advanced training, you can also track your VO2 max, recovery time, and lap times.
All of your fitness and health information can be found through the Mi Fitness app. The app breaks down all the statistics gathered by the Smart Band 10 that’s easily understandable. Its sleep tracking detects deep, light, and REM sleep fairly decently based on our experience.
The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 is powered by a 233mAh battery. They claim that a single charge can last the device up to 21 days or up to 9 days with Always-On Display. A full charge lasted us just shy of 10 days with all of its functions turned on including AOD.
There’s no wireless charging given its budget nature. It can be charged through magnetic pogo pins at the bottom using the included cable. A full charge should take just around an hour tops.
The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 proves that you don’t need to break your wallet in half to get a decent health and fitness tracker. Xiaomi manages to fit all the essentials into a small and featherlight package while still maintaining a relatively long battery life.
There are some features that have been left out to bring it down to only PhP 2,499, but they’re not particularly necessary like wireless charging. Those starting their health and fitness journey that don’t want a large investment can check out the Xiaomi Smart Band 10.
