You may need to be on the road longer due to GrabShare changes

We’re still saddened over the loss of ride-sharing app, Uber, in the Southeast Asia. This is especially true to Filipino citizens ever since their whole debacle with the LTFRB, which led to Uber paying almost PhP 500 million in penalties and compensation to its partner drivers.

With Grab essentially having monopoly in the ride-sharing business in the Philippines, they are now making changes to their app to provide better service to their customers. These changes will also lead for better use of their drivers’ time while they wait for the government to allow more cars to sign up to Grab.

One of those changes is in GrabShare. Previously, only two parties was allowed in the same car for up to only three people. In its recent change, however, Grab is now offering GrabShare to three parties that may slow down travel since there is an additional third drop off.

Grab, however, is saying that they will be decreasing their rates in GrabShare for up to 30% compared to GrabCar. So it would be up to its users if they want to pay more for a more convenient ride or save money by sharing your ride with others.
