ZenFone AR now official in the PH, Snapdragon 821, 8GB RAM, PhP 44,995

First announced back in CES 2017, the ZenFone AR is the first Google Daydream and Tango enabled phone in the world. Touting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, 8GB RAM, a TriCam system, and a price of PhP 44,995, ASUS aims to makes VR and AR a more palatable subject to the common consumer.

First seen in Lenovo’s Phab 2, Google Tango augments reality with area learning, depth perception, and motion tracking. This allows users to place objects, experience products, and even create pets in an augmented environment. This is where the ZenFone AR’s Tri-Cam system; composed of a 23MP Sony IMX 318 sensor, motion, and sensors, comes to the fore.

Google Daydream, on the other hand, is Google’s Virtual Reality environment, where users can play and experience apps in VR. Unfortunately, it requires Google’s Daydream headset to work, which is not included with the retail package of the ZenFone 3 AR.

Here are the full specifications of the ASUS ZenFone AR:
