Dead Space Remake Pulse Rifle Upgrades
Three Upgrades In Total
There are three upgrades for the Pulse Rifle. Two upgrades can be obtained during your travels and another one can be bought from the store once you reach Chapter 3 of the game.
Although these upgrades can be missed, you can still get back to them during certain periods in the game. If you find yourself missing one or two, just head back and wait until you get to Chapter 10 to fully explore the Ishimura.

Chapter 3
Upgrade Perk: Kinetic Autoloader – greatly increases rate of fire
Proceed to the nearest store to unlock this upgrade once you reach Chapter 3.
Chapter 4
Upgrade Perk: P.C.S.I Custom Magazine – greatly increases ammo capacity.
On the first floor of the Bridge is a locked room that can’t be opened by any security clearance. To open this room, move around the back until you can see the pile of boxes blocking the door. Use Kinesis to move the boxes and shoot at the door controls to open the room. The second upgrade for the Pulse Rifle is on the table directly in front of the door.
Chapter 10
Upgrade Perk: High-yield Grenades – grenades have a much larger blast radius.
To get this upgrade, you must first complete the side quest “You Are Not Authorized” to get the Master Override Keycard. The Master Override Keycard allows you access to locked rooms and crates above security level 3 and the third upgrade for the Pulse Rifle is inside one such room. The locked room is located at the Bridge. Take the Water Purification – Ext Hull elevator to ascend. Exit the elevator and turn right to face the door to the locked room. Open the room and then proceed to open the lockers to the left to find the last upgrade for the Pulse Rifle.

Better And Deadlier Weapons
Make weapons deadlier and perform better in combat through the use of upgrades. Weapon upgrades can be done by going to a bench and using a Node to upgrade a specific stat. You can also use a Node to unlock special perks that increases the effects of the weapon. This is a reversible process and you can pay credits to remove Nodes and to allocate them again to a different weapon.
