Globe at Home Go Big Plans now have 3x more data allocation – Starts at 300GB for 5Mbps Plan 1299

With the fixed-broadband arena getting more intense, Globe at Home introduced bigger data allocations with slightly added cost. Dubbed as “Go Big” plans, the new plans goes up to 50Mbps; so it caters to almost all areas Globe services.

Go Big plans starts at 5Mbps with 300GB Data allocation for Plan 1299, it increases to 10Mbps with 400GB data allocation for Plan 1599 and 50Mbps with 500GB data allocation for Plan 1899 (Probably Fiber). The plans mentioned have slightly increase of price where the 10Mbps was at Plan 1299 but with more than triple the data allocation.

In a flyer we obtained, all plans will also include 100GB free Youtube allocation monthly, that is on top of the data allocation indicated per plan. Overall, even with other brands with data allocated plans, this is the biggest ones we have seen so far.

On top of that, Globe at Home also offers delightful add-ons such as Chromecast 2.0, Android TV and even Apple TV to elevate your streaming experience. Not to mention that all plans include 6 months free Netflix and Disney Channels and 2 months access to HOOQ.

One thing you will appreciate with the majority of Globe at Home plans, all feature a landline with unlimited calls to Globe/TM. Something worth having at every home in order to save money in the long run.

Overall, the bigger data allocation plans are a reaction of Globe to competitors like PLDT and Converge offering similarly competitive plans. But Globe has a lot more content to offer as compared to any of its competitors, so that is a good value proposition to consider.

If you are a current Globe at Home subscriber, it will be most likely you can upgrade to these plans provided that you will agree to reset your 24 months contract period. At this time where the DSL plans are heavily challenged by increasing Fiber plans, it won’t be a surprise if next year you’ll have Fiber in your area so we think to consider this factor carefully…or else you’ll pay 2 months monthly service fee and Php2,500 if you would like to pre-terminate your contract.

In our experience, this is exactly what happened to us when we upgraded August 2016 (Bigger Globe Broadband Plans) and had to terminate our line to switch to a Fiber provider March 2017. We had to pay more than Php6,000 to switch to a new provider but without any regrets, as we now enjoy symmetrical download and upload speeds.
