Globe’s 4G download speeds across their nationwide network has increased by 25% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2020 by using Facebook’s Connectivity Analytics tools to identify network performance issues and prioritizing network investments.

Davao and Central Visayas has recorded a 25% increase in download speeds while places in the eCaraga Administrative Region including Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands received a 6% hike. Overall download speeds in Mindanao went up by 5 percent.

Globe is currently aiming to replicate their efforts in other parts in the country where they are expanding and upgrading its network.

Our collaboration with Facebook Connectivity has been instrumental in driving significant network improvements for our customers’ experience. We have seen that our customer experience has improved and is on par with global top tier telcos. We will continue to work together to identify opportunities to improve connectivity, especially as Globe rolls out 5G technology in the different regions of the Philippines,” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

As part of its commitment to deliver better Internet connectivity in the Philippines, Globe has earmarked PhP 76 billion in capital expenditures this year, a bulk of which will be used for data network builds.

Meanwhile, its 5G services have now covered 94% of NCR as of the end of August 2021.
