Modern Warfare 2 Alone Campaign Mission Walkthrough & Guide

In Modern Warfare 2 (CODMW2 2022), the thirteenth mission that players get to experience is called “Alone”. Get to know how to navigate this mission, walkthrough, and useful tips using this guide.

Modern Warfare 2 Alone Mission Walkthrough

1. Advance for a bit and head to the alley to your left. Wait for Graves and the Shadow Company to leave. Head into the building and open the door to your left.
2. Get the “Binding” and disassemble the fan for some “Metal”. Craft a Pry Tool and head back outside and unlock the door on the other side. Continue and advance into the room. Open the door directly in front of the corridor. Get the items inside and use the other door to head into the dining room.
3. Use the stairs to your right to climb up. Get the items and the Headlamp in front of the dying man. Move back a bit and head into the room to your left. Craft another Pry Tool and open the next door. Head inside and continue getting items.
4. Before heading to the next room, be wary of the dog next to you. It will bark once you enter. Turn off your headlamp and move towards the exit leading outside. Jump down from the balcony, turn right and climb up the stairs. Move forward and wait for the commotion to end.
5. After the guards are done doing their deed, move down and get some bottles around the fountain. Throw one to distract the guard standing on the other side. You can follow the trail to your left to get the combat knife or you can advance using the middle path to continue the mission.
6. Enter the stores and get more materials. Craft a smoke bomb and get back to the middle alley. Use the smoke bomb to stun the three mercenaries and sprint through them. Jump down to the flooded street below.
7. Wait! Don’t enter the nearby door and instead go around and jump in through the window. Disassemble the shotgun which could’ve killed you if you went in through the door. If you don’t have the knife yet, you can get one from the shelf next to the staircase. Head up to the second floor.
8. No enemies here so don’t worry about loitering around. Pick up materials inside the rooms and head to the door at the end of the corridor. Opening the door greets you with a man doing his final high five. Turn right and use a Pry Tool to open the nearby chest. Get the adrenaline to return to normal speed and the explosives inside. Enter the next door.
9. Get the locked chest here using a Pry Tool. The door to your left also houses a safe that you can open for a silenced .50 GS and a Throwing Knife. Move back to the hall and jump down the railing once you are ready.
10. The objective now is to either fight or sneak your way through the patrol and reach the sewers. You can explore a bit here and craft a couple of Molotovs to thin down the herd. You can also unlock an additional safe in the garage, left of where you jumped down. You can also use Smoke Bombs to distract and stun enemies as you run through them. Jump down to the flooded sewers to advance.
11. Swim for a bit and either sneak past the enemies by diving down or kill them outright. Use the stairs to go back up to the streets. Climb the white car into the alley and head inside the shop to your left. Pick up the M4 and get ready for a firefight. Open the door to get greeted by a kick and covering fire from Ghost.
12. Head outside and use the buildings to your left and right. Do not dilly dally for long as enemies here are armored and you may find yourself lacking ammo in no time. Use explosives to slow down pursuers until you reach the church gates.
13. Move back with Ghost and equip the more powerful guns dropped by nearby enemies. Fight your way through and advance slowly, using the cars as cover. Reach the other end of the plaza and ride the vehicle.

Completing Alone rewards you with the “Shadow Company Ops” Calling Card that you can use in both co-op and multiplayer.

Sneak & Prioritize Getting A Weapon

A different take from the usual missions, Alone is a mission level that necessitates stealth and craftiness. You start injured and are slower than the normal here and enemies can kill you fast even on lower difficulties. Sneak around and explore until you get a knife and a dependable ranged weapon.

Converse With Ghost

During this mission, you are given several choices to reply to Ghost’s banter. Although they do not have any impact on your progression in the level, it does open up a lot about the dynamic between Soap and Ghost. Choose whichever option that you want and get rewarded with a snappy reply from Ghost.

Modern Warfare 2 Alone Mission Requires You To Craft To Survive

This story mission also introduces crafting mechanics as you initially lack standard weapons to survive. Collect crafting materials as you travel and immediately craft items so you can quickly refill with other materials scattered around the level. Combo these crafted items with bottles so you can eliminate enemies without raising alarms.

Open The Safes

There are two safes located in Alone. As both are optional, you do not need to open them both to advance the level. However, they do have incredibly useful items inside them. Open them when you have the chance and also if you want to complete the achievements of Modern Warfare 2.
