In Modern Warfare 2 (CODMW2 2022), players can play in a couple of new maps to gain experience, level up weapons, and take on other players. Get to know all the available maps in the game using this list, upcoming ones, and more using this list.
As Modern Warfare 2 is being updated regularly, expect more maps to pop up in this list. For all game modes in the game, read this list.
No small maps as of yet in Modern Warfare 2. Most current maps can cater to a maximum of 12 players and there are no small battlefields similar to those used in Gunfight in the past Modern Warfare 2019. We may see these smaller maps via future updates.
There are currently 10 Medium-sized maps in the game. These maps are used in the standard 12-player game modes.
Large Maps cater to 64 players, 32 on each side. These maps are far wider and are home to land, sea, and air vehicles. To play these maps, play either Ground War or Invasion. There are currently two maps:
Similar to previous Call of Duty games, Modern Warfare 2 is expected to have more locations in the future. In the previous games, these maps arrived once a new season and a battle pass have been introduced. It is also worth noting that the more intimate game mode, Gunfight, is currently absent in the game. We can however expect it to be added in future updates together with a slew of new, small maps.
Another thing worth waiting for are the familiar old maps. In previous installments, fan-favorite maps were updated and reintegrated back into the latest game’s map rotation. The same may be possible here. Again, we can only wait for any official announcements but there’s a large chance that the previous fan favorites are going to make their return in Modern Warfare 2.
