Tacticus Neurothrope – Psychic Organism

Neurothrope

A Neurothrope’s physical form is given over to harnessing the power of the Hive Mind. Not only do they act as synapse nodes, but are a pulsing nexus of the Hive Mind’s psychic might, channelling alien impulses into an eldritch onslaught.

Tacticus Neurothrope Abilities

Spirit Leech

Dead 1x X Psychic Damage to an enemy within 3 Hexes. If the target is Suppressed deal an additional +X Damage, otherwise Suppress it. The Neurothrope and friendly Tyranids adjacent to it each heal Health equal to 50% of the total damage dealt with this ability.

This ability’s Damage ignores all of the attacker bonuses and modifiers (including elevation), and cannot Crit.

Neuroparasite

Each enemy that is dealt Psychic Damage by the Neurothrope is infected by a Neuroparasite until either the unit is healed or the Neurothrope is defeated. Whenever a unit infected with a Neuroparasite takes Psychic Damage or becomes affected by an attack or ability that would Suppress it, the level of the Neuroparasite increases by 1, up to a maximum of 10.

Psychic Damage dealt by the Neurothrope is increased by +X Damage for each level of Neuroparasite on the target.

Tacticus Neurothrope Traits

Close Combat Weakness

Whenever this unit is adjacent – or started the turn adjacent – to enemy units, it deals -50% melee Damage and -25% ranged Damage.

Flying

Can traverse impassable hexes and enemies and move between any elevation. Does not get any bonuses from Tall Grass and Trenches.

Psyker

When attacking with a ranged Psychic attack, this unit uses Smite and deals 50% of that Damage to a random enemy adjacent to the target.

Shadow in the Warp

Enemy Psykers within 2 hexes deal -25% Psychic damage. Does not affect Tyranid Psykers.

Synapse

Friendly units within 2 hexes of this unit with the Instinctive Behaviour trait may behave as normal. They also ignore their Battle Fatigue trait if they have it.
