Vexilus Praetors are veteran Custodians who have the incomparable privilege of bearing one of the Custodes’ prized vexillas into battle. These inspirational, artisan-crafted banners bear arcane technologies and radiate with the Emperor’s own light.
Deals 1x X Physical Damage to an adjacent enemy target and an additional adjacent enemy unit. Both enemies are Stunned for 1 round, and Aesoth receives -50% Damage for 1 round. This ability can be used multiple times per battle but has a cooldown of 2 rounds.
Friendly surrounding units have +X Armour and deal +20% Damage with attacks that are not normal attacks. If a friendly Adeptus Custodes uses an Active Ability, Stand Vigil affects all other friendly units within 2 hexes for 1 round.
Normal attacks against this unit deal -20% Damage. This unit deals +100% Damage with all attacks against Summons.
Due to its size, this unit benefits less from cover but also provides some obstruction to enemy sighting. Does not get any bonuses from Tall Grass and Trenches. Adjacent friendly units receive -1 hit from ranged attacks, to a minimum of 1. Cannot be displaced.
If this unit is not already at 1 Health and would be defeated, its Health is instead reduced to 1 Health, unless Overkilled.
Aesoth is basically a classic tank as his ability allows him to pin enemies and gain additional resistance. If you can, place Aesoth in the thick of the fight and use his ability to disable two enemies. Use the distraction to have the rest of your team get into positions to take out priority targets.
Aesoth is a character that can repeatedly use an ability, requiring only two turns to get a charge. Use this to your advantage if you want to farm objectives that require you to use a lot of abilities. You can look for a mission with weak enemies and simply pass until you get charges for his ability. Use the ability, pass; rinse and repeat.
