Commander Dante is the Bringer of Sanguinius’ Light and the Living Embodiment of the Five Angelic Graces. He is among the oldest living Space Marines and is the longest serving Chapter Master. To describe him as a legend is an understatement bordering on insult.
If Dante has not moved, he gains Infiltrate until the end of this turn, then charges an enemy target that has a free adjacent hex within movement range 5 and deals 5x X Melta Damage to it. The target and enemy units surrounding it deal -Y% Damage for 1 round. This effect is doubled if they attack friendly units that are at or below Z% Health
Other friendly units within 2 hexes with Rapid Assault or Flying deal +X Damage with melee attacks. Affected units that are at or below Y% Health also score an additional hit with melee attacks.
This unit starts the battle in Deep Strike.
Units in Deep Strike can move to any free hex on the battlefield that is not adjacent to an enemy, or they can move normally from their current position. They cannot be targeted or damage until they have taken an action or ended their turn.
When this unit loses its last Health, it immediately performs a normal attack on an eligible target and is then defeated as normal, unless Overkilled.
Can traverse impassable hexes and enemies and move between any elevation.
This unit has +1 Movement until it makes either a melee or ranged attack. Its first attack each battle and all following attacks it makes in the same turn deal +25% damage.
Takes -30% Damage from Melee attacks.
Dante’s active ability allows him to jump straight into the middle of a fight, damaging multiple enemies while reducing their attack damage. This can be used as an opener to start the fight as you can get closer without having to deal with absurd amounts of damage.
Dantes that have Rapid Assault or Flying can greatly benefit from the presence of Dante. The passive “Lord of the Host” increases the damage of nearby allies by adding to their damage. Another important effect is the additional melee hit if the ally is under a certain percentage of Health.
