Tacticus Deathleaper – Vanguard Organism

Tacticus Deathleaper

The Hive Mind created this advancement of the Lictor strain as a terror weapon. Possessing an instinctive understanding of how to spread fear, it uses its skills in stealth, infiltration and assassination to sow paranoia and dread before the hive fleet attacks en masse.

Tacticus Deathleaper Abilities

Fear of the Unseen

If the Deathleaper has not moved this turn and is not in Deep Strike all enemies within 2 hexes get Suppressed and trigger Battle Fatigue, if they have it. The Deathleaper vanishes and cannot be targeted or damaged for 1 round. In its next turn, its attacks deal an additional 3x X Direct Damage and it can move to any free hex on the battlefield that is either within Synapse range has Tall Grass or is not adjacent to an enemy.

Feeder Tendrils

When charging, the Deathleaper deals +X Damage, heals for Y Health and Suppresses the target for 1 round.

Tacticus Deathleaper Traits

Camouflage

Ranged attacks against this character score -1 hit. This increases to -2 hits if this character is more than 2 hexes away from the attacker or to -3 hits when in Tall Grass. Attackers always score at least 1 hit.

Deep Strike

This unit starts the battle in Deep Strike.
Units in Deep Strike can move to any free hex on the battlefield that is not adjacent to an enemy, or they can move normally from their current position. They cannot be targeted or damage until they have taken an action or ended their turn.

Infiltrate

This unit does not trigger Overwatch.

Terrifying

Takes -30% Damage from Melee attacks.

How To Use Deathleaper

Tyranid Assassin

The Deathleaper’s kit grants it unparallaled mobility in the battlefield. It can Deep Strike and can use its ability to quickly move to different parts of the map. Use this to target and kill squishy targets such as Healers and Nukers.

Has Lifesteal

Deathleaper’s passive ability allows it to heal whenever it attacks enemies, provided that the attack is a charge attack. Try to target enemies that are farther from your initial target to continue triggering this passive.
