Mephiston is an enormously powerful warrior and psyker. He is the only Blood Angel known to have suppressed the Black Rage, resurrecting from near death with exceptional strength and speed. Many whisper behind his back, asking what price he paid for such a transformation.
Targets a hex within movement range 2 that is neither occupied by an enemy nor by a friendly unit in Deep Strike. Mephiston moves onto that hex. If a friendly unit is on that hex, that unit moves to Mephiston’s previous location. All Blood Angels moving this way perform a normal melee attack after they move, dealing 100% of their own damage to a maximum of 90 Damage. Units moving this way do not trigger Overwatch or other movement related reactions.
After moving, deals 2x X Psychic Damage to an adjacent enemy and an additional enemy adjacent to the initial one. For 2 rounds, affected units cannot be revived, healed, repaired, nor otherwise restore Health. If Mephiston does not move, this ability triggers at the end of his turn.
When this unit performs a normal ranged attack, it also deals 50% of its Damae to a random enemy adjacent to the target.
This unit has +1 Movement until it makes either a melee or ranged attack. Its first attack each battle and all following attacks it makes in the same turn deal +25% damage.
Takes -30% Damage from Melee attacks.
What makes Mephiston a very potent character in the battlefield is his passive. After moving, it automatically deals damage and prevents those that it damaged from being healed and revived. Extremely useful if you’re fighting against teams that rely heavily on heals to survive attacks.
Mephiston’s first ability can deal a tremendous amount of damage if he switches places with another Blood Angel. This is due to the ability allowing an extra attack after they swap, dealing extra damage to any enemy in melee range. That said, even though you can still use the ability with a non-Blood Angel character you won’t be getting that extra attack and would only get the benefit of exchanging positions.
