Tacticus Winged Prime – Lead Warrior Organism

Tacticus Winged Prime

The Winged Tyranid Prime is the apex of the Tyranid Warrior strain. Boasting powerful wings and a greater synaptic capacity than their lesser kindred, these alpha Warriors command the swarming tide of chitinous horrors that signals a Hive Fleet’s arrival.

Tacticus Winged Prime Abilities

Alpha Warrior

If the Winged Prime has not moved this turn, summons a Tyranid Warrior on a free hex within Synapse range. The Tyranid Warrior cannot move this turn, but can immediately perform a normal attack against an enemy in ranged. Tyranid warrior stats increase per level.

Synaptic Linchpin

Whenever the Winged Prime, or another friendly unit with Synapse, performs a normal attack against an enemy and that enemy is not defeated summons a Hormagaunt adjacent to the target, which immediately attacks the enemy. Cannot have more than 2 Hormagaunts summoned this way at the same time.

Tacticus Winged Prime Traits

Synapse

Friendly units within 2 hexes ignore the effects of Instinctive Behaviour and Battle Fatigue.

Flying

Can traverse impassable hexes and enemies and move between any elevation.

Final Vengeance

When this unit loses its last Health, it immediately performs a normal attack on an eligible target and is then defeated as normal, unless Overkilled.

How To Use Winged Prime

Get For The Synapse

The Winged Prime is a very mobile Tyranid and has the Synapse trait. Synapse empowers nearby Tyranids’ abilities and passives making them more potent in the battelfield. Use the Winged Prime’s Flying capabilities to go around and buff fellow Tyranids.

Get Melee Hormagaunts

Get melee Hormagaunts

Hormagaunts are those squishy Tyranids that you often encounter in the Onslaught game mode. The Winged Prime and any Tyranid with Synapse can spawn Hormagaunts to do a follow-up attack if that their target still has remaining HP after the initial attack. This can be useful against enemies with Resilient.
