MSI outs A520 motherboards for Ryzen processors

-

MSI is releasing a couple of new motherboards into the market using the A520 platform. A direct upgrade from the A320 motherboards of years past, A520 motherboards won’t support PCIe 4.0 like their more expensive B550 and X570 motherboards, but all the PCIe 2.0 lanes have been upgraded to PCIe 3.0.

MSI’s A520 motherboards will range from its MAG to its PRO series. These boards will support DDR4 Boost and A-XMP in order to deliver stability and compatibility. RAM can also be clocked up to 4600MHz, which is pretty fast given that the A520 platform is meant to be a budget alternative.

MSI MAG A520M Vector WiFi

One of the latest additions in the MAG series, the MAG A520 Vector WiFi comes with MSI’s Extended Heatsink Design to cool down any rise in temperature. It also comes with Turbo M.2 with M.2 Frozr that can lower the temperature of your M.2 drive.

As the name suggests, the board supports dual-band WiFi 802.11ac in addition to its Gigabit LAN. MSI is also throwing in an on-board DisplayPort and HDMI connections for those who will use an APU.

MSI A520 Pro Series and Dash LAN

Built for business and professional use, the MSI Pro series will support Turbo M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 as well as 4K HDMI displays. Four boards will be available for the market: the A520M Pro, A520M-A Pro, and the A520M Pro-C Dash. All the motherboards under the A520 Pro series will come in a MicroATX form-factor.

Price and Availability

MSI hasn’t announced as to when these motherboards will hit the market in the Philippines. Given the Ryzen 3000 processors and Ryzen 4000 APUs are already here, we expect MSI’s A520 motherboards to be released to the public soon.
