In Total War Warhammer 3, corruption is something you should be mindful of when traveling into the world of chaos. Corruption affects lords and inflicts debilitating debuffs to them. But what is corruption? How can you remove them? Read this guide to know more!
To completely remove chaos corruption from your legendary lord, just have them stay in provincial capitals or towns with buildings that remove corruption. For all races, having your lord in towns or cities with buildings in the “Protection” chain can remove the debuff. Alternatively, have your legendary lord stay in provincial capitals to remove the chaos corruption debuff. These buildings also counter Skaven “corruption” and also prevent Chaos Rifts from appearing.
Another way to remove corruption is to allow your hero to stay in provinces with less corruption. Note that this may take a couple of turns and may be longer than having them stay inside a city with a Protection building.
The longer you stay in the Realm of Chaos, the more severe the traits you get become. Removing these negative traits after your victorious expedition may take several turns. As you may find yourself with one army less for a couple of turns, prepare for this by making a second army or a third one to guard your territories or to prepare for the negative impacts of the chaos corruption.
Depending on the length of your stay in the Realm of Chaos, characters may bring back traits that significantly affects the region they are currently staying. They may involve severe reduction in combat effectiveness and/or ones that affect the campaign map like Control reduction. Make sure that your territories are well equipped when you come back from the Realm of Chaos. It also helps that you hold off from sending your legendary lord to battle until the corruption is gone.
Chaos corruption is no joke when it comes to your legendary lord. As they inflict several debuffs that can have lasting effects, it is highly recommended that you remove them as soon as you can. Having your lord prancing around and doing battle may not be great in the long run as the corruption’s effects may spread to regions. Be patient and get rid of that corruption first!
Nothing is safe from Chaos corruption in the Realm of Chaos. Even Chaos lords suffer from it. However, Chaos Legendary Lords only suffer the corruption effects of realms that are not under their patron god.
