In Total War: Warhammer 3, players can level up their lords and characters to further increase their power in the battlefield. You can do battles to gain more experience to build up your legendary lords and do missions for agents/characters. But of course, there should be a limit. The highest level that a lord or agent can reach in Warhammer 3 is 50. This is after many battles, missions, and after certain events. Make sure to make a good build for your lords as there is no way to respec or reassign points to skills (unless you plug in a mod).
During battles and encounters, lords and agents can die from damage even if they are at a maximum level. Leave nothing to chance and be sure to take the Immortality perk to prevent the loss of an important character. The Immortality perk can be unlocked once you reach rank 20.
There is no need to trouble yourself with protecting legendary lords as they are essentially immortal from the get-go. You can be very aggressive with them as they can pull through any battle provided that you win.
Doing battle is the arguably the best way to get reliable experience points for your characters to reach the maximum level of 50. For generals, this seems like the only way. You can also do this with agents and just attach them to armies so that they can gain experience points in the field. After the battle, you can remove characters from the army and have them do missions for quick experience points that you can farm for every turn.
Some ancillaries provide a percentage bonus to the experience points gained by your Lord. Make good use of them so you can easily gain levels, making it easy to conquer and defeat hostile enemy armies. In the above example, you can get the Personal Sycophant in Slaanesh’s Realm.
Although annoying, you can take advantage of Chaos portals to spawn enemy stacks for experience points. You can also use them to travel across the map and meet more dangerous foes. Note that the corruption can be a problem so make sure to have cities and towns that can withstand the debilitating debuffs. You can also clear those in your immediate vicinity and farm those within your neighbors borders. Just make sure you have the “Military Access” treaty with them unless you want to have another enemy near or within your borders.
