Total War Warhammer 3 features the infamous Bloodthirster of Khorne, Skarbrand, as a playable legendary lord. How should you build him? What are the best skills and abilities to get? Read this guide to know more!
Wrathful Reaper basically pumps the already roided Skarbrand to epic proportions. Adding a tremendous +50% to both weapon and armour-piercing damage for 36 seconds. Use this skill when charging the enemy’s ranks to sweep them like hay. Best used with a unique weapon from Skarbrand’s quest or from Khorne’s realm.
All the skills under the Brutal Charge tree are passive abilities. This means that you do not need to turn anything on and they are all automatically added to Skarbrand’s base stats. When maxed out, all of these skills make Skarbrand the ultimate legendary hero in the game. Although he has no magic, a maxed out Skarbrand can easily cut through the enemy frontlines to wreak havoc.
Claimer of Skulls reduces upkeep, adds range, rank up for new recruits, and adds a recruitment slot. All of which are must-haves during the latter stages of the game. With Route Marcher and the “Call of Battle” Unholy Manifestation, your campaign map range will be seriously too OP. With that much range, you can devastate the whole of Kislev, the Empire, and the rest of the dwarves in a few short turns (provided that you also have a souped up army with Skarbrand).
Blood Feast grants a substantial increase in casualty replenishment, something that you definitely need if you want to conquer town after town in one turn. You can get this during the latter parts of the game when you start leaving your side of the map to conquer Kislev or the Grand Cathay.
Drinker of Blood adds the Gorefeast passive ability that heals Skarbrand with 0.1% HP per second. Nothing to scoff at especially if you have a high armour and high HP. Against mobs, Skarbrand is basically near invincible with this skill. If you want to increase survivability, add some healing items, like Potion of Healing, for a tremendous boost in recovering HP.
Slaughter & Carnage is a quest item rewarded for completing Skarbrand’s quest of the same name. Although it does not offer any good stats in battle initially, you can get a substantial +100% base and armour-piercing damage for each kill in a battle. You can also get this fairly easily and also early on in the campaign.
Weapons in the Realm of Khorne grant incredible stats at the cost of Khorne corruption (which you actually want to have). Get Skarbrand one of these weapons for impressive passive and active bonuses. Unfortunately, you lose this weapon once you return to the Chaos Realm. Maximize it by conquering and pillaging the lands before you go back to collect the other Daemon Princes’ souls.
