How Long is a Day in Tribes of Midgard?

-

In Tribes of Midgard, the player’s progress can be measured in days. As the days advance, you get new unlocks and new in-game events. Each day takes a total of 10 minutes in real life with the length of the morning and night part varying depending on the number of days. This means that the more you days you pile on, the longer the nights become. With that said, you should complete quests and upgrade before you hit the Fimbulwinter event that hits once you reach Day 14.

Prepare For The Long Night

Tribes of Midgard Fimbulwinter

As you pile on the days, the nights go longer and the attacks from the Helthings grow more aggressive and numerous. To survive through the nights, make sure to upgrade your NPCs in the town. Upgrading them also increases their stats, allowing them to help you during the nights. Also, improve towers and gates to help control the flow of enemies.

Unlock The Warden

Fimbulwinter Warden

Surviving and repelling the Helthing attacks up until the morning of Day 16 rewards you with the Warden class. This class can greatly help a team of players during the latter stages of the game with its particular set of skills and abilities. Make sure to bolster your base’s defenses and upgrade your armor and weapons to the maximum to increase your chances of getting to Day 16!

How To Unlock The Warden Guide

Permanent Cold During Fimbulwinter

Once you reach the night of Day 14, the Fimbulwinter event will trigger. This permanently sets the game to night time, spawning unlimited numbers of Helthings to assault the World Tree. Aside from the permanent darkness, Fimbulwinter also significantly decreases the temperature outside of the village. If you are unequipped to stave-off the cold, you might need some potions in order to survive outside. That is if you find the time to go outside during the constant Helthing siege.

Defeat Fenrir Before Fimbulwinter

Fenrir Fight

The current Saga quest is to defeat Fenrir, the large dog boss. In order to reliably beat it without having to frantically mind your base’s defenses, you must beat it before Day 14. The earlier, the better. Players have shown to be able to defeat it even before that day (with some even defeating it on Day 5!) with great resource management, decent control and skill build, and a bit of luck.
