How To Craft Expeditions Rome Lance of Olyndicus
- Get the Silver Spear Shaft in the Sacred Grove
- Talk to Sextus in the Legion Camp
- Go to Lugdunensis
- Talk to the Smith and either pay him 1,000 denarii or intimidate him
- Read the Lance of Olyndicus schematic
- Craft it using your camp’s Forge
Get the Silver Spear Shaft in the Sacred Grove
The Silver Spear Shaft can be found in a derelict cart just beside the Sacred Grove. Sacred Grove is an optional place unless you chose the Toutatis path in End of the Aedui Quest. You can find the corpse just at the left side of the entrance of this location.
Talk To The Smith In Lugdunensis
After getting the Silver Spear Shaft, talk to Sextus in your camp. He will then redirect you to look for a Gallic smith that is more familiar with the material. Thankfully, that smith can be found in Lugdunensis. He can be “convinced” for free if you have the “Ethos” rhetoric style or you can pay him 1,000 denarii for the crafting recipe for the Lance of Olyndicus. After talking to the smith, open your inventory and learn the crafting recipe.
Lugdunesis is a location unlocked by doing the story mission, In This Mess.
Requires The Forge To Craft
Once you have the recipe, head towards your legion camp and use your Forge to craft the Lance of Olyndicus. Note that you have to have the fully upgraded Forge to craft it as it is a level 3 item.

- Unique Ability: If an attack with this weapon brings the target to 20% Health or less, instantly perform a lethal takedown.
- Base Damage: (11-12) – (14-15)
- Armour Shread: 3-4

- 1 x Silver Spear Shaft
- 124 x Regular Salvage
- 20 x Pristine Salvage
- 60 x Good Salvage
- 1 x Pike Head
Can Teleport The User Because Of Its Unique Ability
As a lance, the Lance of Olyndicus can hit enemies 1-2 hexes away. With its unique ability, downing an enemy to less than 20% health performs a lethal takedown. If your target is 2 hexes away, your character automatically transfers to the downed enemy’s hex to perform a takedown. Take note of this as you can find yourself accidentally behind enemy lines if you are not careful. Also consider that Attacks of Opportunity can also trigger this.
