In Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, players can create builds to effectively perform a role in the battlefield. However, not all classes are built equal. Some are just good and more viable than the others. Get to know the best classes in the game, their abilities, and how you can use them in the field.
As “best” is subjective, treat this guide as a recommendation as some classes may be more effective in certain situations.

Inceptors are the assassins in the game. The most useful skill that they have is Teleport. It’s easy to unlock and can be increased in range, allowing you to field ludicrous strats to finish missions. If armed with a weapon and wargears that increase Critical Chance and Critical Damage, you’ll find yourself finishing missions in no time.
The Chaplain is an advanced class and is useful because of its team-wide Litany buffs. Litanies greatly reward your units once certain conditions are met. Some useful Litanies are increased Critical Damage and 50% chance to return WP when using general abilities. Probably the most ridiculous is the additional AP when executing enemies. This Litany can stack and can reward your whole team with up to 4 extra AP per turn.

Chaos Gate Daemonhunter’s medic. An essential requirement during the early stages of the game as it allows your Grey Knights to get back into the fight. Apothecaries also have buffs that when used correctly, can get rid of half or all of your on-screen enemies in a single turn. A best skill to get for this one is Warp Speed Biomancy which allows a Grey Knight to get better critical damage and more movement. Combine it with the Critical-build Interceptor and you’ll be culling enemies left and right.
The Librarian is a warp-based “space magician” that can whittle foes from afar. Also an advanced class, it may come very late in the game. The most useful skill that I’ve found so far is its mass teleport which can bring your whole team to a certain part of the map. Although there is already a stratagem for this, this ability can be pretty useful when you have no Stratagems available during certain parts of the game.

Chaos Gate’s base tank. The Justicar can be built as an offensive-tank or as a defensive one. It can also be built somewhere in between. It has the “Fortress” ability which transfers ALL armour to a Grey Knight. What makes it overpowered is that you can cast it ANYWHERE. This allows you to defend attackers like your Interceptors while they wreak havoc from afar.
The Paladin is a tankier and more durable version of the Justicar. Another advanced class, the Paladin makes use of a Storm Shield for additional defense and armor. It can be fielded as an angry tank that goes around the map or as an area-denial unit. Can also act as a Support by providing a target with all its WP using “The Emperor’s Will”.

Support-fire unit. Unfortunately, Chaos Gate Daemonhunter’s starting ranged weapons are easily eclipsed by melee ones. If you still want to have a Purgator in your team, you can have it built as a Grenadier. With good grenades and armor that further buff grenades, a Purgator can readily and easily support a fire team using Knockbacks or status ailments from afar. As this class is a bit situational, it is recommended to have at least 1 or 2 max level Purgators in your roster.
An advanced class, the Purifier is just a slightly “better?” Purgator with skills that buff Incinerators. Half of a Purifier’s skill tree contains skills for melee which is a bit weird. Can also be built as a Grenadier.
